For this year’s Glastonbury Festival the National Trust are set to light up the Glastonbury Tor (Tower), which sits atop the iconic Glastonbury Hill.
The tower will be illuminated every night between sunset and sunrise during the five days of the world famous festival, which is also celebrating its 40th anniversary. This is the first year of Glasto that the National Trust has attended and this light project is apparently to mark the importance that the festival has on Somerset life. To celebrate its 40th birthday, the National Trust are also putting on a chill-out zone for festival goers with a “Fresh Air Bar” with soft ‘pebble’ cushions and a meadow theme, with silent disco headphones playing outdoor sounds.
In typical Glastonbury style, the LED lights that will be used on the Tor are of the newest technology that will create little light pollution and use less energy than a kettle.
