A middle-aged man from South Yorkshire has entered the 2012 Guinness World Records with the world’s largest collection of Daleks, having amassed a stockpile of 571 of the Doctor Who baddies.
Rob Hull, 49, began his collection in his late 20s despite not being a fan of the legendary SCI-FI show. His collection even features a 6ft life-size replica of one of the exterminators!
“I just started collecting them about 20 years ago,” Hull told the Doncaster Free Press.
“I remember when I was little I always wanted a Dalek. I haven't a clue what the collection's worth but it must be a lot. Most of them are limited editions and rarities. I was always terrified of them, but they're just an iconic character.”
However, Dianne, Hull’s wife, isn’t as excited about the record achievement as her husband.
"I hate the bloody things and I've got a feeling this is only going to encourage him," she said.
