It has been announced that Stella McCartney will design the 2012 Olympics kit for the Great Britain Olympic team.

The fashion designer, and daughter of Sir Paul McCartney, will team up with sports brand Adidas and oversee the creation of the outfits. This will be the first time that a celebrity designer has had such a high-level of involvement with a major sporting event. Stella will design everything including Olympic village tracksuits and merchandise. She said when asked about the announcement; "I'm overjoyed. It's an amazing, once-in-a-lifetime opportunity."

Andy Hunt who is the boss of the British Olympic Association says; "We are really delighted that Adidas has brought Stella on board." Adidas' marketing chief, Nick Craggs, is also very happy about the collaboration saying; "We are thrilled to have someone of Stella's stature and experience working with us in the run-up to 2012."

Well, hopefully this unusual design team will create something that Britain can be proud of.
