Katy Perry has said that she feels as though she has saved Russell Brand from ‘prostitution'.

The 25-year-old singer recently got engaged to Russell in India where he wooed her with a beautiful traditional Indian evening and even an elephant ride. Russell has been linked to many women over the past years, earning himself a bit of a reputation. But Katie says that all he needed was a "strong" woman to help direct him away from his "extremist" lifestyle.

Katie says; "He used to basically be a professional prostitute - now he's not. He's an extremist, which can be both good and bad."

The pair met at the MTV Awards a while back, Katie recalls; "I was 25, 30 feet away from him. And I threw the bottle straight at him. Hit him smack dab on the head. Can you imagine the horrible feeling he had, when he was used to getting everything he wanted? I was like, 'You've met your match.'"

Their wedding is reportedly being planned for this October. Katie's good friend Rihanna raised rumours after making a blunder and letting slip that the wedding will be taking place in India.
